Colin was born in England and resides in California he loves mark-making, whether Neo-Dada icons or Californian missions'en plein air', or in the studio developing atmospheric works, always trying to capture nature's open space and man's place within it... He paints out of pots and jars with all sorts of brushes, palette knives and varied methods to make a lively yet poignant artwork. With the Californian coastline in his head as well as English aesthetics, he relishes the buzz of creativity in painting.

It was during the 1990s that Carr-Nall began to make very lightly inked prints of iconic figures such as John Lennon and Elvis Presley, as well as paintings of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, James Dean, Audrey Hepburn and Charlie Chaplin. He founded "Legend Art", his studio during these years, and gathered around himself a wide range of artists, writers, musians and underground celebrities. He began creating painting using various mediums. His work became popular and controversial. In 1998, he moved to Los Angeles and began a successful career in magazine illustration and acting.
